Scottsdale, AZ 85260
This is the remodeled version of the old Scottsdale Country Club, located between Shea Blvd. and Cactus Rd. and bisected by Hayden Rd. Arnold Palmer came in and redesigned the existing 18 holes located west of Hayden in 1988 and added 9 holes east of Hayden to create a looping 27 hole layout for variety. The east nine is the toughest, while the original holes are primarily position golf with doglegs and fairly flat greens. It’s a pretty easy test for all golfers but not so easy that the skilled player will be bored. Don’t be fooled by the short yardage on these holes. The greens are small and the slope around some of the pin placements will have you shaking your head after your putt rolls five feet past. Bombers will try to drive the par fours and get some of the most difficult pitches imaginable. Precision players are rewarded here off the tee and by keeping the ball below the hole. It’s a great spot for a skins game with your buddies or a quick nine holes after work. Mark Rose is the manager of this facility and has been a fixture in the Scottsdale golf scene for over thirty years. He really knows how to treat his players and his staff will make you feel right at home. They specialize in small tournaments and have a great restaurant and bar on site for after your round.
